Like the cap on a wild mushroom, the special construction designed by Japanese star architect, Sou Fujimoto rests on its glass base. Gleaming, golden sky-wells in the roof provide views of the leafy canopy above. These peepholes in the hollow roof are lined with golden ALUCOBOND® panels so that incoming light takes on a burnished, warm tone. Highlight of this popular public attraction: on the underside of the roof, 30,000 shimmering gold ALUCOBOND® leaves in various geometric forms, reminiscent of the shaped tiles in the Japanese puzzle, Tangram, create a captivating atmosphere.
