Whilst many of our competitors are just now undertaking testing, ALUCOBOND® PLUS was the first ACP to undergo and pass BS8414 testing in the UK, as called up in BR 135.

Additionally, it is important to note that the current ALUCOBOND® PLUS CodeMark Certificate (July 2017 - GM 30070) is based on several BS8414 full scale façade tests (as prescribed in AS5113), NFPA 285 and various relevant international material tests.

Furthermore in Australia Alucobond Architectural has also led the way with local fire testing, conducting the first BS8414 test on ALUCOBOND® PLUS as prescribed in AS5113 at Exova in December 2016. It is important to note that draft amendment to the 2016 NCC which includes AS5113 is still under review and is yet to be finalised. The amendment to the NCC, adopting AS5113 still requires a verification method meeting A2.2 of the NCC.
To re-enforce the fire safety and performance of ALUCOBOND® PLUS, we would welcome a side by side full scale façade test involving any DtS aluminium cored composite panel as they would typically be installed on a building.
